Children in Gaza face starvation as Israeli offensive continues | BBC News
Children in Gaza are facing severe hunger, disease and malnutrition due to shortages of food and drinking water.
The United Nations is warning that 2.3 million people in Gaza are on “the brink of famine”. It says Israel’s military offensive and blockade of Gaza is leading to an “explosion” of children dying from hunger and disease.
Israel cut supplies of food, water and fuel into Gaza at the start of the war. Since then it has allowed some aid into the territory but the UN and charities say it’s not nearly enough. They warn that continuing fighting and lack of civil order makes it impossible to distribute humanitarian supplies effectively..

Starving in silence in Madagascar
It's one of the most overlooked disasters in the world. In Madagascar, 1.5 million people are suffering from a serious food crisis and need emergency assistance. Several dozen people have already died of hunger. An unprecedented drought, which hit the south of the island in recent years and destroyed almost all of the crops, is mostly to blame. As the UN World Food Programme asks for emergency aid of €62.45 million, our correspondent Gaëlle Borgia travelled to Anosy, the region hardest hit by the crisis.

UN warns half of Gaza's population is starving
The World Health Organisation says the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is out of control, as Israel's army continues to push deeper into the south of the territory. Heavy bombardment of civilian areas continues, and the death toll has now surpassed 17,700 - two thirds of whom are women and children.
1.9 million Gazans have been displaced, and are unable to access aid. Agencies say food and water are running out, with no relief in sight, as Israel has pledged to continue its assault, following the US' veto of a ceasefire resolution at the security council. Shoaib Hasan reports.

The World is Starving for Men
We live in a world where being a man is no longer a requirement for a male. It’s optional. You have to choose to be a man. You have to choose to exhibit strength. Choose to make yourself capable of protecting yourself and others. Choose to develop the skills to more adequately provide for yourself and your loved ones. Choose to lead virtuously with strength and courage.
And that was what the inaugural Maine Event was all about - finding and harnessing the raw masculine energy that for so many reasons has been silenced for way too long. It was about gaining the clarity you need to drive on in the face of the challenges that so many of us will deal with.
